Cristo es supremo y suficiente en nuestras vidas. Este es simplemente el mensaje del Evangelio, pues en todo Cristo debe ser preeminente para quienes lo llaman Señor y Salvador. Que esta Navidad sea un momento para reflexionar en el misterio de Aquel que es nuestro todo en todo, Luz del mundo, Vida y Amor.
Christ is supreme and sufficient in our lives. This is simply the message of the gospel for in all things Christ must be preeminent for those who call him Lord and Savior. May this Christmas season be a time for us to ponder the mystery of the One who is our all in all, Light of the world, Life, and Love.
It does not have to be complicated but unfortunately it is. God made us to bask in the pleasures of his glory but sin severed our union with him. For this very purpose the Son of God appeared to destroy the works of the devil and restore us to where we belong. When he appeared, however, no one could have recognized the King coming in the simplicity of a baby wrapped in diapers laying in a manger, but make no mistake, the baby of Bethlehem is none other than Christ, the Lord.
En un mundo de escasez, Dios nos da la suficiencia de Cristo. Cristo es la Palabra de vida que se hizo carne, Creador, Sustentador, Vida, Luz, Vencedor y quien nos da el derecho de ser hijos de Dios. Él es mayor que Moisés y la ley misma, pues es su cumplimiento y quien nos trajo el don humanamente imposible de la gracia de Dios.
In a world of scarcity, God gives us Christ’s sufficiency. Christ is the Word of life
who became flesh, Creator, Sustainer, Life, Light, Victor and the One who gives
us the right to become children of God. He is greater than Moses and the law itself for he is its fulfillment and who brought us the humanly impossible gift of
God’s grace.
Either Christ is Lord of all or he is not Lord at all. Jesus will not tolerate nice
titles and a good place among many in the pantheon of our idolatrous allegiances. Christ was born to be supreme and the sole ruler of our hearts. The world will not take kindly to that but it doesn’t matter how hard the world tries, Jesus is and will always be supreme for he is King of kings and Lord of lords. Are you ready to surrender your life to him?
O Cristo es Señor de todo o no lo es en absoluto. Jesús no tolerará títulos bonitos ni un buen lugar entre muchos en el panteón de nuestras lealtades idólatras. Cristo nació para ser supremo y el único gobernante de nuestros corazones. El mundo no lo aceptará con agrado, pero por mucho que se esfuerce, Jesús es y siempre será supremo, pues es Rey de reyes y Señor de señores. ¿Estás listo para entregarle tu vida?
Puede que sea la época más maravillosa del año, pero también la más ajetreada.
En medio de las múltiples actividades, regalos, anuncios y agendas de la temporada, es fácil olvidar el verdadero propósito de la misma. En este pasaje, Pablo nos recuerda los peligros de distraernos de la supremacía, la suficiencia y la sencillez de Jesucristo y nos motiva a fijar nuestra mirada en Cristo, el Señor.
It may be the most wonderful time of the year but it is also the most cluttered one.
In the many activities, gifts, advertisements and multiple agendas of the season, it
is easy to forget the real reason for the season. In this passage, Paul reminds us of
the dangers of being distracted from the supremacy, sufficiency, and simplicity of
Jesus Christ and recalibrates us to fix our eyes on Christ, the Lord.
Todo lo que la ley exigía, Cristo vino a proveerlo. Moisés era profundamente consciente de nuestra necesidad y nuestra difícil situación bajo las consecuencias del pecado. La transitoriedad de nuestras vidas y la angustia de un mundo sujeto a la decadencia son aspectos de nuestra humanidad rota que fácilmente pueden dejarnos sin esperanza. Para Moisés, sin embargo, hay un refugio, una morada que puede elevar nuestra mirada hacia Aquel que puede darnos un hogar eterno. En esta Navidad, escuchemos la invitación de este Salmo a volver a casa.
