Time To Walk The Talk | Col 2:6-7

Maturity takes time. Whether in the physical or spiritual, maturity is the milestone of healthy growth which life aims in order to multiply. Even though maturity takes time, the waiting is worth it. God has endowed living organisms with his life-giving capacity. This gift of life is the overflowing of God’s love over his creatures. Waiting for this maturity sometimes feels as inefficient or ineffective but it is in the seasons of waiting that God prepares us for the next growth spurt. In Colossians 2:6-7 Paul gives us a clear pathway to maturity to multiplication where believers become disciples, and disciples become disciple-makers. Is this what you have been waiting for?

If God has called DFBC to be a disciple-maker multiplying church, what are we waiting for?

Disciple-maker multiplication takes time because in order to multiply, disciples must reach maturity in their personal and congregational…

I. Life-long journey of faithful worship commitment to Christ: As you received Christ Jesus as Lord – Be with him (Col. 2:6, Mark 3:14).

II. Life-changing journey integrating God’s talk into their individual and collective walk: walk in him, rooted, built up, established – Be like him (Col. 2:6-7).

III. Life-giving journey overflowing with gratitude: abounding in thanksgiving – Love like him (Col. 2:7).

In the Journey, Christ patiently gives us his time

so that we may mature to multiply.

Is 2026 the year when our 80-year-old church will realize

this is what we have been waiting for all of our life?

1. Have you received Christ as Lord? This is the first step in your journey. If you have not taken this step. Check out the video in ineednew.life or talk to one of our ministers today.
2. Are you ready to walk the talk? To grow as a disciple, you need the word of God and a community to encourage you to obey his commandments. If you don’t have a regular rhythm of Bible reading and prayer, Remain is a great option for you. If you don’t have a Journey group yet, this is the year where God wants you to stop walking alone and join the journey in community.
3. Are you ready to love like Jesus loves? God wants us to join him in the joy of life-giving through our grateful generosity as we share the gospel with others with our words and our works.

Power Before Programs | Acts 1

We live in a world obsessed with strategy—plans, systems, and measurable outcomes. Churches are no different. But before the church ever had a program, it had a promise. Before it had a strategy, it had to wait. And before it moved, it received power. If we rush ahead without what Jesus said we need most, we may be busy—but we won’t be effective.
