How can we move on?
In a world of unspeakable evil, pain, death, trauma, and grief, followers of Jesus are given the present comfort of the fulfillment of Christ’s new life which renews their life-vision and enables their hearts to participate in the glories of his kingdom to come.
The resurrection of Christ provides the comfort of his new life that…
I. Enables perplexed, fearful, unbelieving hearts to remember the words and promises of God (Luke 24:1-12).
II. Enables disappointed, disillusioned, grieving hearts to see and recognize his personal presence, making the fulfilment of God’s promises in the midst of their disappointment the unshakeable foundation of their new life-vision (Luke 24:13-35).
III. Enables shocked, troubled, and doubting hearts to become joyful, Holy Spirit-empowered witnesses who live their lives to glorify God by sharing his blessings with those who are not his yet (Luke 24:36-53).
Trade your grief for glory
—because the risen Christ turns every shattered hope
into unshakable joy.
Remember his word, recognize his presence,
relinquish your pain, receive his joy, retell his story.
1. What sorrows are keeping you from trusting Christ fully? He knows the pain we carry and gave his life so that we do not have to carry it anymore. Talk to him today, ask him to help you in your journey from your grief to his joy.
2. True joy is not based on our emotions but on the truth of a God who always fulfills his promises. Would you sit at his table today and remember your faith is built not on how you are feeling but on who he is and what he has done for you? Dwell on the assurance of his faithfulness. He will always do what he said he would do.
