Why did God establish his covenant with Israel knowing full well they would not be able to keep it? God established his covenant with his people in spite of their human depravity because in his covenant his redeeming love…

I. Provides his people with a non-negotiable foundation of order and truth for his creative purposes: The creative power and uncompromising standard of God’s Command Exodus 24

     a. Beyond moralism to new creation: reestablishing God’s righteousness 24:1-18.

     b. Acknowledging our greatest need: Fellowship with God 24:9-11.

II. Provides his people with God’s grace to receive God’s provision for their most desperate need: New life Exodus 25-31

     a. The Tabernacle: new creation (Ex 25:1; 30:11, 17, 22, 34; 31:1, 12).

     b. Priesthood: new humanity (Heb. 2:10-18).

     c. Sacrifice: new life (John 1:14-18, 29, Matt 11:28-30).

The perfect life God’s law demands

Is the life that God’s love provides

For those who freely receive it

And freely give it back.

Give God your pain

In exchange for his life.

1. God’s word is the absolute standard that makes creation right and aligned with God. Do you want to keep trying on your own efforts, or are you willing to trust Christ with your pain and let him carry the burden for you in exchange for his gentle guidance in love?

2. Jesus knows our pain because he died for us. Are you willing to ask, receive, and rest in his all-sufficient grace in the midst of your pain?

Power Before Programs | Acts 1

We live in a world obsessed with strategy—plans, systems, and measurable outcomes. Churches are no different. But before the church ever had a program, it had a promise. Before it had a strategy, it had to wait. And before it moved, it received power. If we rush ahead without what Jesus said we need most, we may be busy—but we won’t be effective.
