Raw power can topple rulers and cause revolutions but it is powerless to change the heart. Because of our sin, our heart is in bondage to evil and powerless to meet the demands of God’s righteousness. This is where God’s grace provides the means and ways for sinful, broken humans to find freedom and a new life as the born-again people of God, the first-borns of a new creation through the Lamb of God who takes away our sins.

What happens when the people of God witness the power of his works and believe his words?

When the people of God witness the power of God’s works and believe his words, they boldly proclaim his praises declaring…

I. His incomparable might in his confrontation of evil: Strength 15:1-10

     a. The enemy’s plan v. 4, 9, John 10:10.

     b. Yahweh’s intervention 6-10,1 Jn 3:8, Heb. 2:114-18, Col 2:13-15.

II. His matchless character as the inexhaustible inspiration for their praise: Song -holy, strong, merciful Ex 15:11-13.

III. His steadfast, gracious, covenant keeping, redeeming love: Salvation 15:2, 13-18 (Revelation 15:1-14).

Praise is the prism

That allows imperfect people

to boldly proclaim the perfections of Jesus

who has become their strength, song, and salvation

Trade your pain for his praise.

1. What areas of your life capture your devotion and your life song? God wants to give you a new song of praise that brings him to the forefront of your life to bless you and others. Are there any competing passions that are distracting you from the place he deserves in your life?

2. Is your faith the result of comfortable and convenient religion or tradition or is it the fruit of personally experiencing God’s deliverance from sin that has given you a God-centered story to share with the world?

3. What areas of your life are still filled with the pain of this broken world? Why don’t you ask the Lord to help you experience his redemption and give you a new song of praise of him and victory over this pain?
