Perry and Beth Oakes served for 25 years with Wycliffe Bible Translators, first as linguists/translators, then Beth as an administrator and Perry as a Bible translation consultant. Since 2015, they have been serving at UnfoldingWord. Perry leads the Content Creation team, and Beth serves the team as a proofreader.
They are working on by creating what we call Book Packages – a comprehensive set of resources for each book of the Bible that can be accessed in the software that facilitates both drafting and checking of the Scripture translation. They have completed these Book Packages for the New Testament and part of the Old Testament.
Ministry Goals
- Our goals for this year are to produce the Book Packages for Leviticus, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, 1 and 2 Samuel,1 and 2 Kings, Proverbs, Song of Solomon, and Nahum.
- Our goals for 2026 are to produce the Book Packages for Numbers, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Psalms, Isaiah, and the remaining Minor Prophets.
