The Strydoms have devoted their life to spreading the Gospel in Japan.

With a population of 125 million people, Japan represents the world’s second-largest unreached people group. Astonishingly, less than 0.5% of the population identifies as Evangelical Christians, and a shocking 95% of Japanese individuals live and pass away without ever encountering the transformative power of the Gospel.

In September 2023, Johan and Haruko established Osaka International Baptist Church in Takatsuki. Their mission is clear: to reach the lost with the Gospel of Christ and to provide guidance and discipleship for believers through the Word of God.

Recognizing the importance of integrating into the local community, Johan and Haruko initiated the Salt & Light English School and English Cafe. These ventures not only enable them to be present in the community but also facilitate the building of meaningful relationships that open doors to share the Gospel and extend invitations to church services.

Their vision extends far beyond the confines of their immediate endeavors. Johan and Haruko aspire to witness the establishment of Biblical multiplying churches within Japan, filled with Christian families who faithfully live for the glory of God.
