The Shepherd’s Call

The Shepherd’s call is an invitation to experience God’s life-satisfying sufficiency in our lives. In Psalm 23 David’s journey with God lays the relational pattern for all those who seek to embrace God’s sufficiency. It begins with conversion from a life of sinful scarcity through the restoration of our soul. It grows and develops with our commitment to his paths of righteousness through his victory over our deepest fears, and will one day find its greatest fulfillment in our eschatological hope proleptically lived out in the message of our current mission. Overall, the Shepherd’s call is a reminder of the things that matter most in our journey- faith, hope, and love (1 Cor. 13:13), those who experience God’s presence in these can truly say to lack nothing.
