Navigating the Tension
Commitments are hard to keep. We live in an age of disposable relationships. Sometimes the tensions that test commitment grow to a point where is easier to give up than to continue to hold on to what is true in love. How can churches navigate the tensions of fellowship when disagreements on what is true and loving threaten to fracture the integrity of our fellowship? In this letter John reminds us not to make the mistake of choosing one or the other. To navigate the tensions of fellowship successfully we must hold on to both truth and love, anything less will cause us to break apart.
