God wants to dwell with us. From the very beginning, God created humanity to be in fellowship with him. Community is at the center of who God is and what he wants for us. Because of sin, our humanity was distorted, and so was our capacity for God-centered community. In his mercy, God’s redemptive plan provided for the restoration of people and places, both individually and collectively. The story of the Exodus is the story of God’s redemption of his people to be a dwelling place for God. Because God’s desire is to dwell with his people, fellowship with him is not just about being together in a house but about becoming a home with healthy and life-giving relationships. In this series, we will see God’s rescue plan to make Israel his people and home. As we journey with Israel as a people freed from the bondage of Egypt, we will catch a vision for the promised restoration of humanity as a Kingdom of priests through the One who would fulfill both law and sacrifice, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
