Lelia Shoemaker

In the late summer of 2021, Lelia had a friend invite her to visit the College International and Young Adult group as they thought she would really enjoy it. They were right! Lelia began attending the group regularly and eventually started attending DFBC as her home Church. Since then, she has gotten more involved in the church and helped with different ministries, but she keeps being drawn back to CIYA. Growing up on the mission field and working at camps makes her feel at home with the transitional nature of this group.

As she has taken on more leadership responsibilities, she continues to enjoy seeing what God can do in the lives of those who intentionally come together for support in a time of uncertainty.

If you are around Lelia for long, she will eventually make a pun out of something you say. She enjoys spending time with friends, her nieces and nephews, and her cats.
