Dr. Brance Barker has been a church member at DFBC since 2014 and became Pastor of Discipleship and Administration in July 2021. Prior to stepping into this role, he served in educational administration for 20 years, serving as one of the founding administrators of UME Preparatory Academy and then serving additional charter schools during his time at Dynamic Support Solutions in roles that included CFO, COO and Superintendent. His educational background includes a B.A. in Psychology, MBA in Management, and an Ed.D. in Educational Administration in 2012 from Dallas Baptist University.  He is also the author of Press In: The 40-Day Journal, Bible Study, and Prayer Challenge. Although he has been sincerely grateful for the opportunities the Lord has given him to get various degrees and serve in various areas, they do not hold a candle to the grace and mercy the Lord extends to each of us each day in our lives.  Brance is grateful to be part of what God is doing in inviting others to join Jesus Christ in a life-long, life-changing, and life-giving journey. 

Brance is so thankful for his better half, Michelle Barker, and the Barker crew which includes Wren, Canaan, Hutch, Brent, and Cliff. He enjoys spending time with his family exploring, hiking, and going on new adventures.  He loves to read and go obstacle course racing with his friends.
