Imperfect Family
According to a 2020 Gallup Poll, Americans see marriage as less important for couples with children together. At that time, only 29% of the surveyed couples with children together believed it is “very important” for such a couple to legally marry, down from 38% who held this view in in 2013 and 49% in 2006. Another 31% said it is “somewhat important” bringing the total to 60% who consider it important to some degree. Meanwhile, four in 10 say it is not too (18%) or not at all (22%) important. From these numbers, it is easy to see how the collective view of marriage and family continues to erode in our American society. Our next sermon series entitled “Our Imperfect Family” from Genesis chapters 1-7 will take us back to God’s original design for humanity and explore the source of our current brokenness and God’s solution to restore our humanity.
