WELCOME TO THE JOURNEY!

The Youth Ministry is a family of students from different lifestyles joining in fellowship, worship, and service to our community. We exist to mature young leaders who lead by example – actively pursuing Christ, overcoming sinful desires, and contributing to the mission of the Church.

“Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” – 1 Timothy 4:12

DFBC Equip (Fuel on Wednesdays)

Our church is involved in a great initiative to help us grow in our walk with the Lord: DFBC Equip. From February 7 to May 1, our weekly meetings on Wednesdays, aka FUEL, will work on a series of studies based on a book by Jonathan Pokluda entitled “Why Do I Do What I Don’t Want to Do”. Our upside-down culture celebrates vice and undervalues virtue, leading us to feed the wrong habits while we allow life-giving practices to die. It’s no wonder we feel empty, exhausted, and directionless. There’s a better way to live life, and it doesn’t involve looking inside ourselves for the answers – that’s not where we’ll find them.

During Equip we will explore the age-old virtues we’re told to pursue in Scripture: humility, forgiveness, generosity, diligence, self-control, authenticity, rest, and optimism. Our students will learn that practicing virtues is not just something we do—it’s something done in us, slowly but surely transforming us into the person we were meant to be all along.

Youth Ministry Activities

FUEL

FUEL is a weekly worship gathering where all students are invited to join in fellowship with one another, fun games and competitions, praise to our God, and teaching from the Word.

Journey Groups

Journey Groups are church-wide and categorized in different ways. In the Student Ministries, students are organized by grade and gender to facilitate community and conversation that aids in their growth.

Mission Initiatives

Mission initiatives are opportunities for our students to take all they have heard in FUEL and discussed in Journey Groups and put it into action. We serve the needs of those in our church and our community, exemplifying and proclaiming Christ in word and deed.
