WELCOME TO THE JOURNEY!

The Youth Ministry is a family of students from different lifestyles who join in fellowship, worship, and service to our community. We exist to mature young leaders who lead by example—actively pursuing Christ, overcoming sinful desires, and contributing to the mission of the Church.

“Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” – 1 Timothy 4:12

Fuel on Wednesdays: Jesus & Relationships

At the center of every teenager’s life is the idea of relationships. The relationships they have with their friends dominate their daily landscape. The relationship they have with parents and siblings flavors every aspect of their personality and character. And relationships with other significant adults, such as coaches and teachers, impact their day-to-day well-being. Relationships are a vital part of what being a teenager is all about. Good thing Jesus had plenty to say about the subject.

Jesus and Relationships, a 4-Lesson Bible Study, will help our students see that understanding and grace are keys to Christ-centered relationships, that there is no room for anger or hostility in Christ-centered relationships, that Jesus laid out the right way to deal with conflict in a relationship, and that their relationship with Jesus must be the number one relationship in their lives.

Lesson 1: Be Understanding

Learning Objective: Students will learn that understanding and grace are keys to Christ-centered relationships, and will be challenged to identify ways they can be more understanding and gracious in their relationships. (Luke 6:41-42)

Lesson 2: Playing Peacemaker

Learning Objective: Students will learn that there is no room for anger or hostility in Christ-centered relationships, and will be challenged to honestly evaluate whether or not they have lost their temper with someone recently, and if so, to commit to making amends. (Matthew 5:21-24)

Lesson 3: Dealing with a Difficult Relationship

Learning Objective: Students will learn that Jesus laid out the right way to deal with conflict in a relationship, and will be challenged to help define the modern-day equivalent of Jesus’ conflict resolution strategy, and to commit to following it. (Matthew 18:15-17)

Lesson 4: Relationship #1

Learning Objective: Students will learn that their relationship with Jesus must be the number one relationship in their lives and will be challenged to evaluate their relationship priorities and make any necessary changes. (Matthew 10:34-39Luke 14:26-271 John 4:20-21John 13:35)
